Too Tired to Think of a Clever Title...

  • Really a light week this week for new books. I got 52, naturally, and Birds of Prey, where it looks like I'll have to go for my Manhunter fix, since DC dropped the hammer on the title (which is unfortunate, but I sort of expected it; seems like anything without an X-, Spider-, Bat-, or Super- in the title doesn't last long...). And that was it.
  • 2 more weeks until Doom Patrol, vol. 5 and Seven Soldiers of Victory, vol. 4 (both written by Grant Morrison, coincidentally) hit the stands. I've really been enjoying the Doom Patrol stuff, since I was only tangentially aware of it as it was coming out (which seems odd to me, but I guess isn't surprising. I was a freshman in college, shopping at a store that, while it had a good selection, the owner treated it like a business/investment opportunity, rather than a hobby, so he was useless for recommending new books. Only tangentially related: he looked just like Abdullah the Butcher). I'm also looking forward to SSoV, so I can finish the story. Over at Comics Should be Good, someone (one of the Gregs?) reviewed all 30 issues of the series, 33 if you count Morrison's arc in JLA Classified, in the month of December. I didn't read the reviews, b/c it's really more of a long-form annotation, and I haven't finished the books yet. But by all accounts, it was a good review...
  • Don't know how I'm going to find time to complete all my classwork, my grading, my CLAD work, and watch all the dvds I got for Christmas and birthday. My Buddy Rob gifted me with the Brisco County, Jr. set for my b-day, which was VERY exciting. Can't wait to watch that!
  • My office is a complete disaster area. Nothing you can do about it (or that I can do about it for the moment, really), just wanted to share. Thanks for listening.
  • One of these days, I'll get the rest of my Starman sketches scanned in and continue posting them for your enjoyment!
  • You know, I really wish DC would continue collecting Ellis/Cassaday's Planetary. Additionally, I wish Ellis would write more Planetary. LOTS more. Too many loose ends remain untied. I know he's said his goal wasn't to tie off the series in a neat little bow, but there are too many things still unresolved. Maybe I'm just selfish that way. Anyway, there it is...
